Anne Waswa PhD.

I am a quantitative and qualitative researcher with data science/ analytics and statistical consulting expertise.

Some of my technical skills include Machine learning algorithms (e.g., linear and logistic regression, Decision Trees, KNN algorithms, PCA, random forest, and Naive Bayes Algorithm), R, Python, and SQL programming.

I am passionate about data and how we can use data to make informed decisions and innovations in varied fields including but not limited to education, medicine, business, finance, and marketing.

I am also very passionate about creativity, with an interest to foster creativity in education and industry through research, as a way to promote invention and innovation to make the world a better place.

Janet Akoth Kireta Msc in Applied Data Science and Msc. in Statistics

I’m Janet Akoth Kireta, a dedicated data analyst with a focus on harnessing data to uncover valuable insights and develop effective solutions. My expertise covers a range of tools and methodologies, including R, SAS, Python, and SQL, which I utilize to analyze complex datasets and deliver impactful, data-driven results. With a robust educational foundation and extensive research experience, I am committed to advancing the fields of biostatistics and data science. I hold a Master’s degree in Applied Data Science and an M.S. in Mathematical Science (Statistics) from East Tennessee State University, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Economics & Statistics from Southeastern Kenya University. My research experience includes enhancing machine learning models for lung cancer classification, addressing data sharing risks with synthetic data generation, and developing predictive models for pressure-volume loops in collaboration with Pfizer. My work has earned recognition through several awards, including the Rotary District 7570 Skelton/Jones Scholarship and 1st Place in the Biostatistics Category at the Appalachian Student Research Forum. In my role as a Research Consultant at ETSU’s Statistical Consulting Lab, I have provided valuable guidance on statistical methodologies and data analysis. Additionally, my professional development includes certifications in SAS software applications and SPSS data analysis. Beyond my professional work, I am actively engaged with professional organizations such as the American Statistical Association (ASA) and the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE).
